Hall-based current sensors and shunt-based sampling are commonly used in high-voltage current sensing for industrial and automotive applications. The former has natural isolation characteristics, while the latter requires the addition of isolation op amps or modulators for electrical isolation. In comparison, the sampling scheme based on shunt plus isolated op amp/modulator has higher accuracy and lower nonlinearity, and at the same time, the offset voltage and offset voltage temperature drift are lower, and it is not easily disturbed by external magnetic fields. It is the solution that is easier for engineers to choose.
The NSi13xx series of current sampling chips include reinforced isolation op amps NSi1300, NSi1200 and reinforced isolation sigma-delta modulator NSi1306, which have a differential input structure suitable for the above shunt-based current detection schemes, such as phase current detection. The NSi1311’s high input impedance and 2V linear input range are suitable for voltage detection schemes such as DC bus voltage detection.

Nanochip NSi13xx isolated sampling series chips can operate normally in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, and all series of products are available in SOP8 (300mil) package. In addition, NSi1306 provides SOP16 (300mil) package, NSi1200 provides DUB8 package for customers to choose.
