Universal Robots Launches New Enhanced UR10e with 25% Increased Payload

Universal Robots (UR) has launched an enhanced UR10e that increases its payload to 12.5kg (27.7lbs), making it a new choice for applications such as palletizing, machine tool management and packaging . And the price of the robot has not changed.

Kim Povlsen, President of Universal Robots, said: “Universal Robots has been actively listening to customer voices and market dynamics, and is committed to pursuing continuous growth. Our customers have deployed Universal Robots in a variety of palletizing applications. Over time, They slowly discovered the potential of our UR10e cobot for handling heavier items. To meet customer needs, we optimized the UR10e, increased its payload, and gave it new deployment capabilities.”

Universal Robots’ small form factor, reliable quality, high performance, intuitive programming experience, and high repeatability have all continued in the enhanced UR10e collaborative robot; now, the increased payload will bring customers even more Brand new experience:

  • The UR10e can carry a robot weighing 2.5 kg and handle cartons weighing up to 10 kg in palletizing applications

  • In addition, the UR10e can now also be used for other material handling applications, such as loading and unloading heavier workpieces during machine tool management activities, or packing heavier items

  • The increased payload of the enhanced UR10e puts a lighter load on employees’ hands and shoulders, which in turn improves ergonomics and the work environment on site.In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that overwork and duplication account for 24% and 8% of work-related injuries, respectively, and new features can greatly reduce the workload of employees

Kim Povlsen said: “Humans are not naturally good at repeatedly carrying heavy objects, but our cobots can handle these tasks with ease. Robots can take over high-intensity work, helping customers increase productivity, improve product quality, and maximize the creativity of employees. The ability to think and solve problems ensures safe production.”

UR partners gave us a very positive response. German company MBO Postpress Solutions has integrated the UR10e cobot into its CoBo-Stack stacking cobot series. Sebastian König, Head of R&D at MBO Postpress Solutions GmbH, said: “The increased payload of the UR10e enables customers to use the MBO CoBo-Stack to handle larger and heavier products such as glue- and stapled catalogs and manuals. The retrofitted The UR10e is more versatile and can generate more profit for customers.”

In addition, the updated UR10e is also compatible with Universal Robots’ UR+ hardware and software peripheral ecosystem products, supporting plug-and-play, ensuring users can quickly and easily launch collaborative applications.

Nicolas Lauzier, Senior Product Manager at Robotiq, commented: “The UR10e has a higher payload and can be used to handle loads up to 12.5kg, giving more possibilities for palletizing applications. In addition, the UR10e is suitable for production lines where products of different weights need to be palletized. .”

Universal Robots dealers are now accepting orders for the UR10e, with shipments starting in late June.
